We are finishing up with our unit on Geometry and Algebra Connections this week. Topics include slope, parallel and perpendicular lines, distance, midpoint, partitioning a line segment, and writing equations of lines. Expect an assessment by Thursday.
This week we will finish our unit on circles in the coordinate plane by determining if a point lies on the circle. On Tuesday/Wednesday we begin our unit on the connections between algebra and geometry. We will review writing equations of lines, slope, midpoint, and distance from middle school as well as partitioning a line segment in one and two dimensions.
This week we will be graphing and writing equations of circles. You will be identifying the center and radius from the standard equation and converting between the standard equation and the general equation. We will also find the points of intersection of circles and lines intersecting circles. Quick quiz on Wednesday and Friday.
